About Friends of County Parks

The Friends of the County Parks, established in 1988, is a group of concerned citizens joining together to promote financial and community support to the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department. They develop public awareness of recreation as an important part of day-to-day life. 

Funds provided by The Friends of the County Parks are used as a supplement to the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department budget and does not replace allocated tax dollars. These additional funds helps maintain, improve, and enhance services provided by the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department. The Friends of the County Parks enjoys a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit exemption status.

HALLOWEEN TRICKS OR TREAT HAPPENINGS
October is here and so are a bunch of Halloween
activities for the entire family throughout all of
Hillsborough County. For questions and information
contact the recreation site.
Fall Fest @ Mango Recreation Center – Oct. 22nd

ROY WILCOX & FRIENDS GOLF
TOURNAMENT – NOV. 13TH
The Roy Wilcox & Friends Golf Tournament
is back and will be held Sat. Nov. 13th at
Summerfield Crossing Golf Club. Cost is
$320 per team which includes tee time, cart
fee, range balls, lunch and 2 drink tickets.
8am shotgun start. We are looking for
players, hole sponsors, bag sponsor and
more. For more information contact Mary at

Hillsborough County Adaptive Sports
Program and Friends of the County Parks.

BALL FOR ALL THERAPUTIC DANCES BEGIN ON
OCT. 29TH
Brandon Recreation Center will once again host
therapeutic dances again. The first one will be held on Fri.
Oct. 29th. The dances are held and designed to serve
adults in the community with disabilities. Snacks and
drinks will be served. $1 donation per person is suggested
to help cover the cost of the refreshments. For more
information contact Coach Ty at Brandon Community
Center.






TAMPA BAY ACTIVE LIFE GAMES
The Tampa Bay Active Life Games are
being held from Oct. 4th thru Oct. 12th this
year. Participants aged 50 and up are
participating in the following events: 1
mile walk/run, talent show, shuffleboard,
dominoes, horseshoes, bunco, bag toss,
pickleball, table tennis, tennis – doubles,
track and field events, billiards and darts.
Closing ceremonies will be held on Oct.
12th @ 11am at Carrollwood Village Park.

success. We registered 364 participants.
