Celia Birtwell Prints to Adorn Chic Outdoor Living Range












The summer solstice will never be the same again, as a new glamourous range of camping gear
and accessories is due to set the chic fraternity alight. Millets the Outdoor Store, in collaboration
with avant-garde designer Celia Birtwell are to launch an exclusive limited edition camping range in
Millets stores nationwide and online at www.millets.co.uk.

Celia Birtwell is renowned for her whimsical and quintessentially British vintage prints and she is
world famous for fashion and interiors. Her signature prints are charming, witty, innovative and
amusing and for the first time her famous floral prints will be translated into a unique outdoor range
for the chicest of campers.

Celia Birtwell said: “I am delighted that my classic designs are being given such a fresh twist.
Millets’ innovative approach to outdoor living is very exciting and the thought of friends and cool
young families sleeping under the stars while cocooned in my prints is wonderful.

We have worked together to create a unique camping collection with retro designs and fun eclectic

The exclusive range for Millets introduces Celia Birtwell to a totally new audience of fashion
conscious glampers, while Celia fans will be beside themselves as they sleep out and chill out
alfresco. Celia has selected her bold Candy Flower Print and the romantic Monkey Puzzle print,
which will be found on a range of tents and outdoor accessories.

Highlights of the Celia Birtwell for Millets outdoor range includes the large Monkey Puzzle printed
Teepee. A fun alternative to the traditional tent, the Teepee is perfect for a week away with friends
(£99.99). Ideal for the family is the Monkey Puzzle four-person Family Tent, which has two
bedrooms, windows and curtains that allow in natural light, and a large porch area (£149.99). A
stunning three-person Candy Flower Dome tent completes the tent range, which is perfect for
festivals and weekends away (£69.99).

Soon to be collectable, the range also includes accessories printed with Celia’s iconic designs
including folding compact chairs, Wellington boots, sleeping bags, melamine crockery and Retro
style lanterns and drinks flasks.

In the Sixties, Celia Birtwell and her husband, the late fashion designer Ossie Clark gained
international acclaim for their designs. The couple counted amongst their friends the elite of British
Rock and Roll, art and fashion including the Beatles, Twiggy and David Hockney. Celia Birtwell was
a muse for Hockney, who painted the famous ‘Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy’, which is one of the
most viewed pieces in the Tate Britain Gallery, while her original designs are collected by the V&A.

The brands are a perfect fit. Millets themselves were synonymous with the swinging sixties, with a
store in fashionable Portabella Market and are now the UK’s leading outdoor store.
