WELCOME/CALL TO ORDER
a. This meeting was called to order at 1:06 p.m. by Anthony Sanchez

PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
III.
PRESENTATIONS
a. HC Comp Plan Update- Recreational and Open Space Element
i. Melissa Dickens gave a presentation on this portion of the Comprehensive Plan.
ii. Discussion ensued between Board members and staff.
ACTION ITEM- Place on next agenda
b. Sponsorship Update
i. Dana McDonald gave an update on the sponsorship position and the Friends
agreement.
ii. Discussion ensued regarding length of times for assets.
c. Reopening Update
i. Forest Turbiville shared that Lithia Springs and E.G Simmons swim areas will be
reopening with limits on swimmers. Nature Centers are not open yet. Special events
will be reopening in May with input from the Department of Health.
ii. Adrienne Rouse shared that her department has fully reopened.
iii. Mr. Sanchez inquired about summer camp. Ms. Rouse shared information about
increased camp capacity.
iv. Mr. Berlin inquired about vaccinations for summer camp staff.
d. AED Update
i. James Crouch provided an update that Procurement has received the AED bids back
and plans to have a purchase order in place next week.
e. ELAPP Acquisition Update
i. Ross Dickerson shared a presentation on the two most recent acquisitions.

f. UF Park Tree Study Overview
i. Greg Brown shared a presentation on the tree study and summarized data from the
report. He also shared the next steps for urban forest management and re search.
g. Employee Vaccine Policy
i. Ms. Rouse shared County incentives for receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. At this time,
employees are not required to get the vaccine.
h. Piney Point Disaster Update
i. Mr. Turbiville shared that the disaster has been averted for the time being. The
County’s EPC is monitoring water quality conditions and will have more data at a
later time.
i. CAPRA Update
i. Alison Hughes shared an update about the CAPRA visit next week and invited the
Board to attend the kick-off meeting.
j. Board Positions
i. Mr. Sanchez encouraged the Board members to try and make contact with
Commissioners Myers and Overman regarding their vacancies.
k. June 3rd Meeting
i. Discussion ensued and the next meeting will take place at All People’s Life Center.

BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
a. Mr. Sanchez requested an update about the USF land available for purchase. Mr.
Turbiville shared that this will be on the ELAPP agenda next week to be nominated and
approved for ranking.

a. Ms. Rouse shared a video link for Chris Harrison’s PCA award.
ACTION ITEM: Ms. Hughes will send the link to the whole Board.
