MARLTON Land Co. to Transform Historic
Golf Course for Upper Marlboro Society
Reimagining The MARLTON Golf Country Club
Upper Marlboro, Maryland: The MARLTON
Land Company, a pioneering real estate
ownership group, announced plans to transform
The MARLTON, a historic golf course and
country club just outside Washington DC, with a
commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The MARLTON Golf Country Club,
with its rich legacy dating back to
1968, stands as an iconic 18-hole
sanctuary in Upper Marlboro,
Maryland, cherished by golf
enthusiasts of every skill level.
Revered for its challenging
layout and views of "Lake
Marlton," the society is also
home to The MARLTON
Grill.
The project, in collaboration with the LAKE
MARLTON Land Co., is expected to take
five years to complete. This includes the new
“Lake Marlton” homes, also known as West
Marlton, which will be used for various
purposes, including residential, commercial,
and retail (mixed-use).
This venture will include the development of
new amenities, such as five-star dining
experiences with farm-to-table concepts, a
state-of-the-art fitness center and spa, an
expansive sports complex, an organic farm,
a gourmet market and winery, plus a
signature rum bar.
In addition, there will be a technology-enhanced
driving range, and a pavilion/amphitheater for
outdoor concerts and other events, plus
sustainable practices, including electric carts,
solar power, water-saving irrigation systems,
waste reduction strategies, and other cutting-
edge technologies.
“This is our way of giving back,” said
Lindsay Guion, a representative of the
two ownership groups. "We are
committed to making a difference in
the world, and we believe this could
transform the Prince George’s County
community."
"We want to create a mecca for
entrepreneurship and innovation
where people can live, work, and
play. We also want to make sure
that it is environmentally friendly,”
he added.
Guion shared the vision of The
MARLTON as a new Black Wall
Street. “As architects of society, we
want this to be a place where people
from all backgrounds can come
together and cultivate networks,” he
said.
"We want people to say,
'Meet me at The
MARLTON.'"
