Charleston Southern University Athletic Training

The Athletic Training Program at CSU strives to provide comprehensive
athletic training services to nearly 300 Division I athletes. These services are
vital in the health and safety of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate
athletics. A staff of five certified athletic trainers oversees the medical care for
the student-athletes competing in Charleston Southern’s 17 varsity sports. The
services include recognition, treatment, rehabilitation, education and prevention
of injuries occurring during participation in athletic activities. Each staff athletic
trainer works with specific teams to ensure quality healthcare for our student-
athletes.

Charleston Southern student-athletes have access to athletic training
services in the athletic training facility located inside the CSU Field House.
The athletic training facility is equipped with the tools necessary to provide
comprehensive injury care and rehabilitative services for Buccaneer intercollegiate
athletics.
Services
· The Athletic Training Facility is located in the Southeast corner of the CSU
Field House. It will be open two hours before each game and as needed
after each game. If circumstances should arise and you need access to
the Athletic Training Facility at another time, arrangements can be made.
· A Certified Athletic Trainer will be in attendance at every home CSU
event.
· The following modalities will be available for your use: Ice, Heat, E-
stim, Ultrasound, Iontophoresis, Laser and Infrared Light Therapy and
Hydrotherapy.
·
If your team is traveling without an ATC, we request a signed note from an
ATC on your staff with the parameters for use of any modality other than
ice or heat for your athletes.
·
Ice, water, cups, ice bags and biohazard supplies will be provided during
all home events. An AED, spine board, splints, and crutches will also be
provided if needed.
· CSU is located directly across from Trident Regional Medical Center.

Please contact us if your team will be traveling without a certified athletic
trainer so that we may better assist you and your team, or if you have any other
special needs we can meet.
