becomes.
Nine muscles make up the
hip flexor and the muscles
vary in size, length and
dominance.
Exercises can help strengthen
the hip flexor and prevent a
muscle imbalance, lower back
pain, hip pain, and other
issues.
A straight leg raise is one way to engage
the hip flexors. While lying on the floor
facing upwards, one leg should be kept
straight and lifted to a 45 degree angle.
Repeating this exercise 10 times for
each leg will strengthen the hip flexor.
A standing knee raise is
another excellent way to
strengthen the hip flexor.
The knee should be lifted up to
the level of the hip and then
slowly lowered back to the
starting position. Two sets of 10

be performed.

stretch.

stretched by bending the knee
and lifting the heel behind and
then bringing the heel up to
the glutes.
