Dallas Entrepreneur Barred from City Council Race
Over 28-Year-Old Felony—Which is Against the
Law
30 years after transforming her life, building a
successful business, and contributing tirelessly to her
community, Aimee Ramsey has been barred from
running for Dallas Council.
Two other candidates, Keio
Gamble and Landers Isom, were
also denied ballot access, raising
serious concerns about election
interference and selective
enforcement.
For 24 years, Ramsey has been a job creator, taxpayer, and advocate for redemption,
operating Silver Image Limousine, a thriving transportation business.
However, because of a previous felony conviction,
she cannot run for office to continue her work in
supporting and helping her community; a decision
she says is against the law.
Ahead of the May 3 council vote, she urges voters,
business owners, and justice reform advocates to
demand a system that actually supports second
chances—not just empty promises.
She said, "This is bigger than me. It’s about whether we truly believe in redemption, fairness, and the right
of the people to choose their own leaders."
