The Phlebotomy Workshop offered by CCHAP is suitable for nurses, lab
technicians and assistants, emergency medical technicians, as well as
undergraduate students and international medical graduates.
The one-day 5-hour workshop takes place

Upon learning the physiology and anatomy of veins and arteries,

You will also learn the steps for
safe specimen handling and the

As phlebotomy specialists work directly with patients, the training will

ethical issues.
You will learn to prepare a patient for a
blood draw, verify their identity and
handle lab requisition forms, explain the
process, keep them calm, and assist
them in case of an adverse reaction.
The CCHAP offers 6 to 9-month vocational programs for
post-secondary students and short-term skills training
workshops.
Other available workshops you can
participate in include Clinical Research
Essentials, Pharmacovigilance,
Electrocardiography, Intramuscular
Injection, Nasopharyngeal Swab
Collection, Electronic Medical Records &
OHIP, and more.
