Art of Painting in the 21st Century Online
Conference Next Weekend
The John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis, CA has announced the hosting
of the 13th annual Art of Painting in the 21st Century Conference on
April 17, 2021.
The annual event will be conducted online this
year via the Zoom platform.
The annual conference has been one of the gallery's
foremost events since its initial holding thirteen
years ago.
Its main objective is to provide painters,
who usually work alone, with a venue for
discussion and debate on contemporary
art, as well as for exchanging ideas on the
current trends in the field.
The gallery has also announced
the roster of artists who will be
featured at the event.
These include F.
Scott Hess, Julian Bell, Julie
Heffernan, and Chester Arnold- all
recognized as some of the most
talented and famous painters working
today.
The event will conclude with a lecture
by art historian, writer, and painter
John Seed.
Art of Painting in the 21st Century has been described by Artweek Magazine as "The kind of
educational, intellectual event one expects from museums or universities, but which public
institutions seem less and less able to provide." Tickets to the conference may be purchased at

Founded over three decades ago, the
John Natsoulas Center for the Arts has
been recognized with various honors and
has produced numerous historical and
high profile exhibitions.
In addition to hosting conferences and publishing
hundreds of artists' books and catalogs, the center
was one of the forces behind the world's first
Transmedia Art Walk in Downtown Davis, an art in
public places project featuring over fifty sculptures and
murals by local artists.
