Your ego; something that needs to be “in check”
Having an ego can often land us in more trouble then it’s worth. Especially during a fight.
This is why it’s important to know how to control your ego in a fight.
While it’s normal that you often want to show off and prove that you’re tougher than you look,
it’s not worth it. The outcome can be dangerous and lead to severe consequences.
Our video on Keep Your Ego in Check shows you the consequences and different situations
of what can happen during a fight if you have an ego.
Sure, on the spot it can seem like you have it handled and you know what you’re doing, but
is it really the smart thing to do?
Anybody can be dangerous
For starters, you don’t know what type of person you’re dealing with. Are they someone
aggressive? Are they part of a group and they can gang up on you? Do they have a history
of violence?

You don’t know any of these answers, so why provoke them. As the saying often goes, “don’t
poke the bear”. You don’t know when he will turn on you and put your life in jeopardy.

That said, sometimes, the best decision is to not say anything at all. As hard as it may be for
you, don’t let your ego get the best of you.
Don’t say anything and mind your own business. This will diffuse the tension and the
outcome will be much more beneficial for you.
Furthermore, it’s important to know some verbal defense tactics to help you stay safe in
these type of situations.
