Declaration of Sovereign Support of Yazidi Nation
HRH Prince Naif bin Dawood bin Numb
Yazidi Emirate of the Amiri Royal House of David
The Ancient Catholic Church, restored from the Temple of Solomon by the Templar Order from 1118 AD,
was recognized by the Kingdom of Jerusalem at the Council of Nablus of 1120 AD, by Papal Decree
endorsing the Temple Rule of 1129 AD as a "patriarchate" with "disciples" (Rules 7-9, 62, 64), granted
"tutela protection" of ecclesiastical statehood as a "religion" and "Holy institution" by the Papal Bull Omne
Datum Optimum of 1139 AD. Under the Roman Code of Canon Law it is a "public juridical subject of Canon
law" with inherent Pontifical authority (Canons 113, 2, 116, 1-2, 215). It retains such status by
"customary international law" (UN Diplomatic Relations, Preamble, Article 47.1; UN Consular Relations,
Preamble; UN Immunities of States, Preamble: 5; UN Law of Treaties, Preamble, Article 38). Status as a
sovereign "subject of international law" is binding upon all countries regardless of recognition (UN Law of
Treaties, Articles 3, 38), with inherent diplomatic and consular relations (UN Consular, Articles 3, 1(d),
17.1) as a non-territorial state (UN Diplomatic, Articles 1(i), 3.1(a)).
The Ancient Catholic Church, as a member state of the inter-governmental
organization (IGO) World Coalition of Refugee Rights (WCRR), issues the
present declaration in support of the Yazidi people (Al-Ayazdi), in connection
with our joint work against the atrocities fueling the international refugee crisis.
The Ancient Catholic Church is the pontifical 12th century Church of the 1st
century denomination of Ancient Catholicism, embodying the ancient origins of
Christianity which connect it to other religions. It holds a Mandate from WCRR
to serve as Programs Administrator for all humanitarian operations of the
Coalition, also providing interfaith support and upholding freedom of religion.
The Ancient Church condemns the ongoing religious persecution of the Yazidis
in the Middle East since August 2014, including the escalating massacres and
slavery of women and children by rogue militants, as a systemic genocide of an
indigenous people.
The Church also condemns the
foreign policies of state-sponsored
destabilization, in violation of the UN Charter and conventional international
law, which have only served as the proximate cause enabling and perpetuating
such genocide.
We recognize the protected status of the Yazidi people, and their indigenous
rights and religious rights, as fundamental human rights.
Moreover, we declare the heightened need for special support of the Yazidis, as
an essential focus within the overall humanitarian missions of WCRR to resolve
the refugee crisis.
Therefore, we hereby establish our focused support of the Yazidi people, as part
of our sovereign protection of Assyrians, Coptic and other Christians, together
with all refugees of Arab, Muslim and other ethnic cultures.
Yazidi as Ancient Heritage of Classical Christianity
Yazidi monotheistic theology accepts Jesus as a prophet, and its doctrine of
"embodiment incarnation" recognizes Jesus as the Godhead born into a human
body [1]. They are generally recognized as "Yazidi Christians" [2], and are
usually persecuted together with Christians in the Middle East [3].
The central figure of Yazidi religion is the Chief Archangel of God, called the
"Peacock Angel". In the Yazidi Mystery School of the Sufis, the Peacock Angel
was called "Al-Khadir" (Al-Khidr), which Muslim scholarship of the Hadith
(interpreting the Quran, Surat Kahf, 13:60-82) describes as an Angel associated
with the Biblical Melchizedek [4] who blessed Abraham (Genesis 14:18-20;
Hebrews 7:1).
Scholars of Muslim folk literature generally hold that 'Al-Khidr' was a title,
which could be held by different Prophets or Saints over time [5]. Biblical
scholars likewise hold that "Melchizedek" was a title held by different High
Priests of the Ancient Priesthood of the Biblical Magi [6].
The successor to that title was Our Lord Jesus Christ, who the New Testament
identifies as "High Priest" of the Magi Priesthood "after the order of
Melchizedek" (Hebrews 5:5, 5:6, 5:10, 6:20, 7:17, 7:20).
The title Melchizedek consists of the ancient Mesopotamian words 'Melek
Zedek', meaning "King of Righteousness" [7] (Hebrews 7:1-2). The ancient
Persian name for the Peacock Angel is 'Melek Taus', the "King Peacock",
indicating that Melchizedek is a manifestation of the Peacock Angel.
The New Testament describes peacocks as four Archangels guarding the throne
of God (Revelation 4:6), reflecting the Yazidi theology of the Peacock Angel. In
early Christian Mysticism, the peacock was a symbol of the Church, associated
with the phoenix, and in Orthodox Christianity it is a symbol of resurrection
and eternal spiritual life [8].
Therefore, the Yazidi tradition is a subject of important heritage of classical
Christianity, connecting the Church to its ancient roots in the Biblical Magi, and
providing a bridge between Christianity and Islam. The Ancient Catholic
Church thus recognizes and declares solidarity with the Yazidi people, as our
brothers in angelic faith, and too often as our brothers in persecution.
Establishing Sovereign Diplomatic Relations
On the basis of elements of our shared heritage with the Yazidi tradition, and
our parity of status as sovereign subjects of international law, the Ancient
Catholic Church is in a position to declare official recognition of representatives
of the Yazidi people (Al-Ayazdi) in customary international law, for the
purposes of diplomatic relations.
We recognize Prince Naif bin Dawood bin Numb, from the native Yazidi
Province of Sinjar, as the hereditary descendant and Emir of the sovereign
Yazidi Royal House of David (Dawood), supported by his sacrifices in Iraq for
the Yazidi people and official asylum in Germany as an indigenous leader in
exile.
We thus recognize the Yazidi Independent Supreme Council of the Amiri Royal
House of David bin Sulaiman as the official government of the sovereign
Emirate of the Yazidi indigenous people and religion internationally,
independent as a non-territorial principality, independent of other cultural
leaders from various branches of Yazidi society, and independent from ethnic
Kurds.
Therefore, we establish official inter-governmental diplomatic relations with the
Emirate of the Yazidi Amiri Royal House of David bin Sulaiman, and its Yazidi
Independent Supreme Council, supported by
its effective diplomatic
representation throughout the Middle East, Russia and the European Union.
Accordingly, the Ancient Catholic Church hereby declares its political and
sovereign support of our diplomatic counterpart, for the benefit of the Yazidi
people (Al-Ayazdi) internationally.
Officially Issued with Sovereign Authority under International Law:
