About Friends of County Parks
The Friends of the County Parks, established in 1988, is a group of concerned citizens joining together to promote financial and community support to the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department. They develop public awareness of recreation as an important part of day-to-day life.
Funds provided by The Friends of the County Parks are used as a supplement to the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department budget and does not replace allocated tax dollars. These additional funds helps maintain, improve, and enhance services provided by the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department. The Friends of the County Parks enjoys a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit exemption status.

The Community Sponsor Program (CSP)
The CSP gives businesses and organizations the
ability to sponsor park amenities, such as dog parks,
sports complexes, basketball courts, and more. All
community sponsor contributions are utilized solely
to improve visitor experiences and make Hillsborough
County Parks more equitable and inclusive.
Community sponsors are recognized with signage
prominently displaying their logo.
There are multiple amenities available for sponsorship
throughout the county. This provides sponsors with
the ability to effectively target potential customers by
sponsoring amenities directly associated with their
products and services. Amenity sponsorship collateral
comes in a variety of options, ranging from vinyl
banners, windscreens, court decals, and more.
Aligned Values and Mission
The CSP is a unique opportunity for businesses
and organizations to leverage the credibility of
Hillsborough County’s acclaimed parks and programs
to inspire an emotional connection between their
company’s brand and park visitors. Sponsors must
demonstrate that their business and values are aligned
with the Parks & Recreation Department’s mission,
goals, and objectives. All potential sponsors go
through an extensive approval process.

with the local non-profit organization Friends of
the County Parks and Recreation, Inc. The Friends
organization is a 501(c) 3 organization created for the
purpose of supporting Hillsborough County parks
and programs. All sponsorship funds go directly to
the Friends organization, making the contribution tax
deductible and more readily available for park projects
and improvements.
Equity for All
To ensure that funds are distributed equitably across
the county, sponsorship dollars will be allocated into
a General Sponsorship Fund and an Equity Fund.
The Equity Fund is reserved for parks in underserved
communities.
