About Tampa Bay Tech

Tampa Bay is Florida's largest, and the nation's second-fastest-growing, tech hub. We are
home to 1 out of every 89 US tech workers, more tech talent than half the states in the nation.

One, specific, point of pride is that the Tampa MSA employs the most female tech talent in the
state, greater than the closest market (Orlando) by almost 40%. The ratio of male to female
tech talent in the Tampa MSA (73% male, 27% female) is better than traditional tech hubs San
Francisco, Seattle, Austin and many others.

Our organization, Tampa Bay Tech, is a board-lead, membership-driven non-profit, whose
membership consists of the region's largest and fastest-growing tech employers. Combined,
our membership employs over two million, raised more than a quarter of a billion in equity
capital, generates over half a trillion in annual revenue and carries over a trillion-dollar market
cap.

Our board leadership consisting of the most senior tech leadership from such organizations
as Accenture, IRONMAN, Nielsen, Tech Data, Valpak and more believes that our mission of
empowering Tampa Bay's tech community through our community, marketing and workforce
initiatives is vital because we are at our strongest when working together.

And our efforts are paying off. Tampa Bay Tech membership sponsors 52 Tech Meetup groups,
engaging more than 16,500 unique participants. We've been partners on over $5.9MM in
workforce grants since 2016. We've built a tech news wire with a distribution broader than
any other media outlet in the region.

We produce two signature events each year. Our poweredUP Tampa Bay Tech Festival, the
region's singular tech-only festival, with over 1200 registered attendees in May 2018. Our 15th
Annual Tampa Bay Tech Awards will open nominations this summer, with an ultra-exclusive
event to be held Friday, November 9th, at Armature Works in Tampa. We also lead groups for
senior tech leadership, emerging tech leadership, Software CEOs, CTOs and in-house corporate
recruiters.

What our technology leaders are saying about Tampa Bay:

"The Tech community in Tampa Bay is strong and growing every day. We have always had an outstanding pipeline of
talent coming out of our University programs. Adding to that, we now see a very exciting, and positive trend as
Millennials are choosing Tampa Bay for their home base. As a technology leader, this pipeline of talent is a business
imperative. Regardless of industry, more and more companies rely on technology to drive business growth and
expansion, and the businesses in Tampa Bay are no exception. Not only can these young professionals build strong
technology careers right here in Tampa Bay, they are surrounded by others doing the same."
Kimberly Anstett | CIO | Nielsen
kimberly.anstett@nielsen.com | 813-366-4322

"The Tampa Bay region is so rich in technology resources and the tech community is really thriving right now. Within
this market, you'll find unlimited opportunity. Tampa Bay boasts a highly skilled and diverse technology talent base; an
eco-system for the smallest start-up to the largest tech companies; and, an education system ranging from focused
boot camps to a strong base of globally recognized universities graduating tomorrow's engineers and scientists."
Stanley Curtis | CTO and SVP, Software Engineering | Pilgrim Quality Solutions
stanley.curtis@pilgrimquality.com | 813-915-1663

"Technology is a driving force in all of our organizations today that helps fuel our growth opportunities. The Tampa
Bay area has a very diverse set of organizations including high end medical research, financial institutions, automated
manufacturing facilities and a growing startup environment, just to name a few. The local workforce is dynamic and
ramping up to meet the challenge of our growing technology needs. Our local university systems are developing the
next generation of technologist, our veteran transition programs from MacDill are providing additional feeders for
talent and we have a robust local talent pool to engage. Where else can you engage in such a diverse company and
technology environment that has some of the best beaches in the world. This makes the Tampa Bay area one of the
best place to live and build a technology career."
Chris Cate | COO & CIO | Valpak
chris_cate@valpak.com | 727-399-3127

"I am thankful that Tampa Bay Tech has placed workforce as a key pillar in its mission. As CIO of IRONMAN, we are a
growing company headquartered in Tampa. Within IT, we have hired both full time and intern positions through the
various initiatives Tampa Bay Tech has held. Tampa Bay Tech makes it very easy to connect and bring the job seekers
and college graduates to us through their various venues, and allows our teams to interact 1 on 1 in both an informal
setting as well as complete interview setting."
John Kuemmel | CIO | IRONMAN
john.kuemmel@ironman.com | 813-868-5995

There has never been a better time to be in Tech in Tampa Bay. As a veteran technologist from the area, in the past I
sought most of my opportunities elsewhere, but today I gladly live and work here. I have found many venues, such as
the Tampa Bay Tech, where I can help others be equally as satisfied with the opportunities in our area, whether
individuals seeking technology career opportunities or employers seeking diverse highly skilled technical talent. I look
forward to the increased momentum we will gain by collaborating across forums, employers, universities and the
community to stretch into the future of making Tampa Bay a technology hub.
Virginia Lee | VP Technology - Global Cyber Security | Nielsen

"The technology footprint of the Tampa Bay area is expanding rapidly. The demand across our technology companies
for talent is growing at that same pace. Moving individuals from one company to another may fill immediate needs,
but that model will not sustain the growth this area is experiencing. The Tampa Bay Technology Forum has created a
venue to tap into top tier talent at our universities and our military base; Powered by Potential and Powered by Heroes.
As the CIO of Arbitration Forums, this gives us access to a new talent pool, the ability to pour back into our community,
all the while solving our resource needs."
