Tampa Bay Tech CEOs meet-up at MOSI after dark
The TBTC Council has had a goal since the very beginning to try and assist the local Tampa Bay Tech
community flourish through STEM & technology education. Most recently this meant visiting the iconic
MOSI science museum located in Tampa’s University area.
Accusoft hosted the latest tech social with the help of John Smith, President and CEO of MOSI and
his staff, for TBT CEO Council members and their guests November 16, 2023. The CEO Group
presented John with a $4,500 donation from TBTC members to help the MOSI cause. The gathering
served as a chance for Smith to announce that the beloved museum is here to stay in Tampa’s
University area along with an announcement on new plans for 2024.
“It’s a bold choice to stay in Tampa’s University area, especially as we see so many businesses
relocating Downtown,” states Smith. “However, we must serve all areas of the Tampa tech and STEM
community, and staying in our current location gives us the chance to both enhance and create even
more exhibits that show local children how fun science can be.”
All of these changes come with one simple goal in mind: getting kids excited about science. As STEM
occupations become more prominent in the job market, getting children interested early on has
become increasingly important.
In addition to these exciting announcements, the event included a tour of the museum’s new
planetarium which is scheduled to open soon, catering from Green Door on 8th, networking
opportunities for local tech and science leaders, as well as time for handing off the TBTC baton from
Accusoft's Jack Berlin.

Great changes are coming to MOSI, as they also are for the Tampa Bay Tech CEO (TBTC) Council.
Started in 2017 by Jack Berlin and Seng Sun, the Tampa Bay Tech CEO Council was created under
the Tampa Bay Tech umbrella to merge the area’s top leaders and inspire open conversations on how
to help the local tech community flourish.
Jack served as the leader of the group since its inception but announced during MOSI’s event that he
would be stepping into an advisory role and handing leadership over to Dan Collins, CEO of 360
Advanced, with the assistance of Keith Archibald of Ballast Services and the TBTC Board, which Jack
will remain on.
“I started the TBTC group as a 'safe space' for CEOs to gather and collaborate with the hope we could
make our community a better place through our combined resources,” shared Berlin. “As we usher in
the next generation of tech leaders, I have confidence that Dan, Keith and our Board will continue to
rally our community leaders and find new ways to give back and assist new companies entering the
market.”
As a community, we all look forward to all of the exciting changes on the horizon for MOSI and the
larger Tampa Bay tech community.
