Dolphins are sea creatures that appeal
to kids and adults alike. It is not a
secret that they are a crowd favorite.
Even though National Dolphin Day
comes around on April 14, it doesn’t
mean that your kids can’t do these arts
and crafts.
You’ve probably searched Google for
“dolphin craft preschool,” and a lot has
come up. We’ve gathered ones that are
easy for both children and adults.
You’ll find all the materials needed in
your home. These crafts are the best
way to learn and have fun at the same
time.
2 paper plates
Paintbrush
Paint
Brass fastener
Construction paper
Jumping Dolphin Craft
We’re starting easy. Here are the
things you need for this craft:
Materials:
Grab the larger paper plate. Cut a
third portion of it.
Using the larger paper plate, cut
ocean waves on the flat side where
you did the cut.
Get the second paper plate. Using
the paint and paintbrush, paint
with a darker shade of blue. You
can paint a lighter shade of blue on
the paper plate with ocean waves.
Directions:
1.
2.
3.
4. While the paper plate dries on the
side, get the construction paper and
cut the dolphin shape. You can draw
other details on the dolphin-like eyes
and mouth.
5.Once the paper plate dries, glue the
dolphin on the whole paper plate. You
can draw a sun or stars on it.
6. When the other paper plate is dry,
attach it to the whole paper plate using
one brass fastener. You can draw
fishes on it, too.
7. Once it’s complete, you can rotate
the paper plate where the dolphin is
glued and see the illusion happen
right before your eyes. It would seem
like the dolphin is diving in and out of
the water.
Foam sheets
Glue
Black marker
Scissors
Googly eyes
Card stock or Paper
Alphabet Dolphin Craft: D is for
Dolphin
This is another dolphin art activity
that kids will love. This craft is also an
excellent way
to practice
their
alphabet. For this activity, you’ll have
to prepare the following:
Materials:
For this one, you can download a
dolphin craft
template and a
template for the letter D. You can
print this on a piece of paper or
card stock.
Cut all the templates and trace
them onto the foam sheet. Once
complete, cut the foam sheet.
Using blue craft foam, cut out
waves with the yellow craft foam,
cut out a circle for the sun, and cut
out other waves and clouds with
the white craft foam.
Directions:
1.
2.
3.
4. Once you have all the cutouts, get
the glue. Attach the white and blue
waves first on the bottom end of the
letter D. Cut away any excess.
5. Glue the dolphin on top of the
waves. You can line the underneath
portion of the dolphin with blue craft
foam for the belly.
6. After that, glue the clouds and the
sun on top of the letter D.
7. Attach the googly eye on the
dolphin.
8. Lastly, use the black marker to draw
the mouth of the dolphin.
Clay (Blue, black, and white)
Dolphin Clay
To add even more fun, get out some
clay and do this dolphin art! You’ll
only need one thing:
Material:
Using the blue clay, help your kid
form a dolphin shape out of the
clay dough. Don’t forget the fin and
the tail.
Get the white clay and form the
belly of the dolphin.
As for the black clay, you’ll only
need a little for the eyes of the
dolphin.
Directions:
1.
2.
3.
Thread
Needle
Pencil
Scissors
Blue felt fabric
Black felt fabric
Toy stuffing
Fabric Dolphin
This one is also fun to do, but an
adult’s help is necessary to complete
it. Here are the things to prepare:
Materials:
e
Draw the shape of the dolphin on
the blue fabric using a pencil. You
can also print out a template.
Cut two identical dolphin shapes.
Cut small black circles on the
black felt fabric for the eyes.
Once complete, use the needle and
thread to sew the eyes onto each
dolphin cloth.
Directions:
1.
2.
3.
e
4. Sew the dolphin fabric together.
Leave a small opening.
5. Don’t cut the thread just yet. Get the
toy stuffing and stuff the dolphin.
6.Once done, close it.
e
These are only a few of the things that
your kids can do. There are other
things you can try for them to have a
more
personal
encounter
with
dolphins. Sunshine Scenic Tours has
the best dolphin cruise in St. Pete
Beach, FL. We can accommodate you
and your kids for an affordable price.
