WELCOME/CALL TO ORDER
a. This meeting was called to order at 12:02 PM by Anthony Sanchez

PUBLIC COMMENTS
a. None
III.
PRESENTATIONS
a. ELAPP Acquisition Update
i. Ross Dickerson gave updates on open ELAPP acquisition projects.

b. State Road 56 Extension
i. There is no update at this time and a new meeting is still pending.

c. Lettuce Lake Park Nature Center Naming
i. Billy Graham informed the Board that the event is scheduled for August 31. Jack
Berlin will be speaking at the event.
ii. Discussion ensued about Joel Jackson, his career, and speaking points for the
event.

d. Temple Park – City of Temple Terrace Police Chief Ken Albano
i. Rick Valdez shared that the BOCC approved this item yesterday and Temple Park
will now be named the Pepin Family Park.

e. Tackle Football Game Security
i. Mr. Valdez stated that the department is working with law enforcement to get
two off-duty deputies at each game, but there has been a challenge fulfilling
this.
ii. Discussion ensued regarding staff filling in for the deputies, security procedures,
and year-round football.

f. September 29 Meeting
i. No changes are needed.

IV.
BOARD ACTION
a. Approve minutes from the July 14, 2022 meeting

Motion: Joe Guidry made a motion approving the July 14, 2022 meeting minutes and the
motion was seconded by Jack Berlin. The motion was passed with no opposing members.

V.
BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
a.
Jack Berlin met with the new director of MOSI and would like to invite him to the
November board meeting to discuss the programs which will be offered to the
community.

b. ACTION ITEM- Add this to the next agenda- John Smith.


VI.
COMMUNICATIONS, ACTIVITIES, OR STAFF MEMBER COMMENTS
a. Adrienne Rouse introduced Mary Cales, Troy Stewart, and Rick Riessle to speak about
the wheelchair football program and tournament.
b. Alison Hughes gave a sponsorship update for the wheelchair football tournament.
c. Discussion ensued regarding program funding and partnerships.
d. Ross Dickerson shared that the outreach coordinator position has been filled by Ms.
Hughes.
e. Mr. Turbiville stated that the next ELAPP General Committee meeting will take place
September 19 at 4 PM.

f. ACTION Item- Ms. Hughes will send the tournament schedule to the Board.

a. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:45 PM.
