ERDAS Software 2010, Version 10.1 Released
New products with this release include LPS eATE, Defense Formats for Stereo Analyst and
ERDAS APOLLO Feature Interoperability.
Norcross, GA (PRWEB) -- ERDAS Inc. announces the release of ERDAS Software 2010, Version 10.1, featuring
several new products and enhancements throughout the existing product portfolio. This includes new releases of
ERDAS IMAGINE®, LPS, ERDAS ER Mapper, ERDAS Extensions for ArcGIS, ERDAS APOLLO and
ERDAS TITAN Client. New products in this release include LPS eATE, Defense Formats for Stereo Analyst and
ERDAS APOLLO Feature Interoperability.
This minor release is part of ERDAS’ annual release schedule, which includes a major and minor release each
year. Software maintenance customers may download their product upgrade at the support website. This installer
will upgrade existing installations from ERDAS Software 2010 to ERDAS Software 2010, Version 10.1.
“ERDAS Software 2010, Version 10.1 includes several new products and numerous customer-driven
enhancements across the product lines,” said Mladen Stojic, Senior Vice President, Product Management and
Marketing, ERDAS. “This significant minor release provides the latest technology for authoring, managing,
connecting and delivering geospatial information.”
The three new products, and some of the new features and benefits of the existing products are outlined below.

LPS eATE is a new module for generating high resolution point cloud data from stereo imagery. LPS eATE
provides an unparalleled solution for processing terrain data in a distributed processing environment. This highly
flexible solution is ideal for all types of projects, from satellite to airborne frame and digital pushbroom sensor
technologies, with variable output terrain density up to the pixel level.
Defense Formats for Stereo Analyst® for ArcGIS is a new US Defense only product that adds Tape Format
Requirements Document (TFRD) raster and Mapping, Charting and Geodesy (MC&G) sensor model support,
enabling their direct consumption and use in the Stereo Window.
ERDAS APOLLO Feature Interoperability provides a DGN Connector to ERDAS APOLLO, enabling direct
access to MicroStation’s DGN v7 and v8 format files via web services. The module is powered by Safe
Software’s FME technology, which provides direct read and write support to a large and expanding number of
vector feature formats. IMAGINE Feature Interoperability was released in late 2009.
ERDAS IMAGINE has improved DigitalGlobe sensor support, enabling users to more efficiently handle
DigitalGlobe tiled data and WorldView-2 multispectral imagery. Users now have faster access to attribute
information with a new inquire cursor and inquire box report based on the active layer. There is greater accuracy
of coordinate mensuration now that users can display elevations in ellipsoid, Mean Sea Level (MSL), or any other
vertical datum.
Throughout LPS, users can process data from new sensors with improved sensor support. Performance has been
enhanced with Multicore Ortho Resampling using the Batch Tool. Users also have an enhanced viewing
experience with transparent graphics in the LPS Project Manager.

In ERDAS ER Mapper, users experience a higher quality image display by creating transparency masks when
compressing to ECW and JPEG 2000. Users can also assign transparency masks to existing ECW images, saving
time because data does not need to be recompressed.
In Stereo Analyst® for ArcGIS, users can automatically generate an image extents file using the Footprint Layer
to Shapefile function. Stereo Analyst also now supports loading single bands from multispectral data into the
Stereo Window.
This release of ERDAS APOLLO includes imagery rotation support for ECWP in ERDAS APOLLO Essentials –
Image Web Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 support in ERDAS APOLLO Essentials – SDI, Advantage and
Professional and an improved web client in ERDAS APOLLO Advantage and Professional.
ERDAS TITAN Client now includes enhanced visualization controls for scale-based rendering and dynamic tile
adjustment, as well as a terrain quality slider.
New product downloads and licensing information are available on the ERDAS website. A document elaborating
on what’s new in ERDAS Software 2010, Version 10.1 is available on the company homepage. In addition,
