Officers Reports
Marcel informed the Board that Friday Meetings were being held once a month with himself, Arnie
and Denise Fischer for everyone to be updated on status of maintenance items and contracted
work so that everyone was on the same page! He also informed residents that Ron Turner had
been a huge help to Arnie when he was down, assisting him with the fencing, gates and anything
else he could do to help. He would like to purchase a bottle of Ron’s favorite scotch out of the
social monies as a thank you. Everyone agreed that would be a perfect gesture.
5.
Committee Reports
A: Social Committee.
Joan Duffy again was organizing the city wide yard sale for April 6th, 2019 so any more treasures
would be most welcome.
Pat Godsted was hosting the last Meet and Greet party of the season. All of them have been
embraced by both older term residents and newer arrivals. Thanks again Pat!
B: Landscaping Committee.
Pat Godsted reported that for under $500.00, she and Arnie were purchasing buttonwoods to go
along the fence next to the blue buildings that should grow in and fill out quickly.
C: Parking Committee:
Jack reported of progress so far with parking ideas. Perhaps switching all Owner spots to the
beach front with the dog walk parking spots being labelled guest or visitor parking. Giving owners
parking passes and guest passes for them to distribute. Board discussion ensued with a consensus
being that the committee need to come up with one viable system to present to the Board at the
next meeting. Jack agreed and the parking issue was tabled until the next meeting.
D: Web Committee:
Jack acknowledged that there were still a few glitches to work out, mainly automation of certain
forms and problems with residents not receiving all the web updates. When time permits, he will
tweak the system to solve any potential issues.
6.
Old Business
A: Maintenance Issues:
As per the latest maintenance list of February 2019, the 3 new balcony doors were discussed. They
are on order and should be installed late April/early May. The 3 balcony recoating projects are
scheduled for early April and the storage room’s termite treatment has been rescheduled for the
first week in April.
B: Sliding Glass Doors Update:
Stormfitters have kept true to their word and based on the water intrusion retesting have now
ordered brand new window frames and hardware to be installed in all the 8 stack units April 17th,
2019.
C: Elevator Modernization update:
Still awaiting the elevator specialist to recover after surgery…unfortunate for Driftwood, but we
have been told ours will be first on his schedule to complete.
D: Ratification of Entry Door System:
The purchase of the new entry door system from Accurate Electronics in the amount of:
$4,999.99 to include 1 extra system offsite for backup had been approved via email. Jack
motioned to ratify the email decision, Marcel seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
E: Unit Doors Update as discussed in Maintenance Issues.
F: Termite Issue as discussed in Maintenance Issues.
G: Generator updates:
Before the generator work can commence, their electrician Commercial Electric had to perform
some upgrades. However, they were running into issues with the City of Indian Rocks Beach
obtaining the permit. Apparently the City would not accept the Notice of Commencement being
signed by the President, Marcel Turner and requested it be signed by the Association’s Attorney.
After some discussion, the Board asked Denise to research this problem with their Attorney, Ben
Rabin. In the meantime, Marcel will reach out to the City.
7.
New Business
A: Rental occupancies and fees:
After sending correspondence out to several owners requesting their rental forms and application
fees, all have complied and many have said they were not aware this was a requirement. We will
continue to monitor this situation.
