PDS Refresher Training
The training is video based and self-paced. The modules are designed to move you expeditiously through
the training. Each PD Specialist must pass the examination in order to renew the two-year agreement. All
PD Specialists taking the exam are given two attempts. You must pass the exam with at least an 85% score.
We are providing 30 calendar days from logging in, for you to complete the training. Once you have
entered the training center, follow the step-by-step instructions.
The training center is accessible from your Personal Dashboard in YourCouncil. To begin training, log into
your YourCouncil account and select the “PDS Renewal and Refresher Training” tab.
The next display requires that you select “Create New Application”. This is where you will confirm or edit
your current contact information. You will not actually create a new application.

Select “Profile” to review and confirm your contact information.
Select “Edit” review, update or change any information within your profile. Once you have reviewed
your information and made edits, select “Save and Continue”.
Select either “Yes” or “No” under “Confirm profile is up to date and continue to LMS?”; and then select
“Next”.
Under the Summary, you will note either an X or checkmark under “Status”. If the status is incomplete,
you will see an X. . You will need to return to the “Profile” or “Confirm” tab to make corrections. If,
under the “Status”, there is a green checkmark, click on the “Continue to Refresher Training” button.
Below is a screenshot of the page to begin your training. Select “Begin” to start.
Then click “Next”.
This will take you into the training center. This is the training center’s home page:
To access the PDS Refresher Training, select “My Dashboard”.
Once on the page, select Professional Development Specialist Renewal Training under “My Courses”.
Next, select the first option, “Course Introduction” to begin the training with a quick orientation.
Complete each module in sequential order. At the end of each learning module, you will need to
complete a Knowledge Check before moving to the next one. Continue this process throughout the
training. After you have completed each module, you will gain access to the final examination. Each
learner has two attempts to pass the final examination with an 85% score.
Once you have successfully completed the training and exam, you will move to documents. This is where
you will access the W9 and PDS agreement for completion. After completing and submitting the W9 and
PDS agreement, you will be endorsed with a two-year agreement period.
