The samples were received on 2/17/2017 2:20 PM; the samples arrived in good condition, properly preserved and, where required, on ice.
The temperature of the cooler at receipt was 24.0º C.
GC/MS Semi VOA
Method 8270D SIM: The method blank for preparation batch 660-179818 and analytical batch 660-179834 contained 1-Methylnaphthalene,
2-Methylnaphthalene and Naphthalene above the method detection limit. This target analyte concentration was less than the reporting
limit (RL); therefore, re-extraction and/or re-analysis of samples was not performed.
Surrogate recovery for the following sample was outside control limits: B#3. Evidence of matrix interference due to non-target analytes is
present; therefore, re-extraction and/or re-analysis was not performed.
The matrix spike / matrix spike duplicate (MS/MSD) recoveries and % RPD for preparation batch 660-179818 and analytical batch
660-179834 were outside control limits for multiple analytes. The parent, MS and MSD required dilution due to high target analyte
concentration. Sample matrix interference is suspected because the associated laboratory control sample (LCS) recovery was within
acceptance limits.
Due to sample matrix effect on the internal standard (ISTD), a dilution was required for the following sample: B#1.
Surrogate recovery for the following sample was outside control limits: B#1. Evidence of matrix interference due to non-target analytes is
present; therefore, re-extraction and/or re-analysis was not performed.
The method blank for preparation batch 660-180058 and analytical batch 660-180065 contained Chrysene and Benzo[b]fluoranthene
above the method detection limit. This target analyte concentration was less than the reporting limit (RL); therefore, re-extraction and/or
re-analysis of samples was not performed.
The matrix spike / matrix spike duplicate (MS/MSD) recoveries for preparation batch 660-180058 and analytical batch 660-180065 were
outside control limits. Sample matrix interference is suspected because the associated laboratory control sample (LCS) recovery was
within acceptance limits.
The matrix spike / matrix spike duplicate (MS/MSD) precision for preparation batch 660-180058 and analytical batch 660-180065 was
outside control limits. Sample matrix interference is suspected.
No additional analytical or quality issues were noted, other than those described above or in the Definitions/Glossary page.
