JULY NEWSLETTER

--WELCOME NEW SWEETWATER NEIGHBORS. The Baldwin family has moved
into their new home on Crosswater.

energy into caring for that bulletin board. Guess and wonder no more – it is
Kathy Rothschild! Thank you so much Kathy for what you do for our
neighborhood.

--NEIGHBORHOOD PARTIES. Looking forward to fall/back to school when it starts
to get a little cooler AND Neighborhood parties start up again! We are seeking
neighbors who are willing to host a party at their home. Another alternative,
which Dana Shores seems to successfully do, is to engage the Rocky Point Golf
Course Clubhouse for preparing the food, using the clubhouse, etc. for a party. A
small charge would be charged for this scenario. Think about it neighbors and let
Marie McElroy (mcelrmar@gmail.com) or Donna Lentz
(mdgator1@tampabay.rr.com) know your thoughts and ideas. AGAIN, we need
hosting neighbors!

Water Quality Reports Hit the Web
County's Consumer Confidence Reports tell the story of
County water
Hillsborough County Public Utilities provides over 55 million gallons of
drinking water to more than 600,000 residents every day. But have you
ever wondered what goes into keeping that water safe?
If so, look no further than your Consumer Confidence Report. Released
every year by Public Utilities, the 11 reports provide information about
drinking water for each of the County's 11 individual water systems.

--Tampa International Airport among the first airports to test TSA’s new
high-tech scanners
Similar to the CT scanners used in hospitals to detect diseases and irregularities in
the body, TSA’s new baggage screening machines reveal detailed images that
could eventually eliminate the need to remove electronics and liquids from bags.
Using the same technology that hospitals use to screen patients, TSA is now testing
out computerized tomography (CT) scanners at screening checkpoints to better
in the country to use one of the new scanners, located at Airside C, and the
technology is designed to speed up the screening by allowing passengers to leave
electronic devices in bags.

--Storm Surge: Real Threat, or Hollywood
Myth?
More than just fun blockbuster CGI, storm surge is the biggest
threat residents face in a hurricane
You may have noticed tall signs in your neighborhood warning you about storm
surge. Those aren't real, right? Wrong.
Storm surge is what happens when water from the ocean is pushed to shore by
weather like tropical storms or hurricanes. During hurricane season, storm surge
is one of the primary threats to Hillsborough County residents, and one of the
factors that determine whether your neighborhood will be ordered to evacuate.
For example, the following are possible heights of water levels you could see
depending on your evacuation zone:
 Zone A - up to 11 feet
 Zone B - up to 17 feet
 Zone C - up to 22 feet
 Zone D - up to 31 feet
 Zone E - up to 38 feet
