The U.S. Census released a report on how small businesses are faring during the Coronavirus pandemic. During this challenging time, The New Movers and Community Guide is a directory connecting local businesses with customers who want to shop locally.
Connecting Small
Businesses With Local
Customers: New Movers
and Community Guide
Several years ago, when I operated a small business I
found the challenges of connecting with customers to be a
constant concern.
At the start of the Coronavirus pandemic,
a drive I had taken down a small town
area just outside of Greenville, SC took
me to a new chocolate shop that told me
they were closing that day and might not
be opening again.
In today's challenging climate, small businesses face an even greater
need than ever before to connect with local customers who are
seeking to shop locally.
The Small Business Pulse Survey Data
Release issued the Phase 3 release
during November 2020 showing the
National Average of affected businesses
by the Coronavirus pandemic to be at
29.7%.
The percentage of our businesses that have suffered is
even higher in a variety of locations.
Our higher percentages are
reflected from Aloha! in Hawaii
which is at 52%, Illinois at 37.7%,
and New York who is not left
behind at 39.5%.
These numbers reflect more than mind numbing statistical data, they help us
to see some solid important facts suggesting strengths and weaknesses in
the businesses in today's small business world.
"The Small Business Pulse Survey
measures the effect of changing
business conditions during the
Coronavirus pandemic on our
nation's small businesses.
Small Business Pulse Survey (SMPS)
Census Bureau data collections by providing high-
frequency, detailed information on the challenges
small businesses are facing during the Coronavirus
pandemic," from the United States Census Bureau
article, "Small Business Pulse Survey: Tracking
Changes During The Coronavirus Pandemic".
A new resource that really grabbed my interest, and has been designed
to connect reputable local small businesses with the local community
has been released recently.
It is the New Movers and
Community Guide. It enables
local small businesses to list their
information.
