AVAFEST 2019 provd so
popular and was well
attended.
The city of Austin asked AVAFEST sponsor, The Veterans Suicide
Prevention Channel, if they would create the festival again this year for
veterans, military personnel and the citizens of central Texas.
The VSPChannel agreed to do it
again however, AVAFEST 2021
will be online this year out of an
abundance of caution because of
the pandemic of Covid-19.
The Festival will be streamed online on the newly acquired Veterans Suicide
Prevention Channel's new ROKU channel which is capable of being accessed
by millions of viewers on cable TV throughout the world.
Registration for all of the
divisions can be accomplished
by visiting www.
This year all of our AVAFEST art exhibits will be online, in addition we are
planning an online Book Fair for veterans with books and their family
members as a collaboration with the Austin Public Library Department.
A virtual 5k race dubbed the RUN,
WALK & ROLL 5k race is being
created that will allow participants
to run it virtually from anywhere in
the world.
"We believe that there is healing in performance and the
practice of the arts, all of the arts.
We believe that the practice of the
disciplines of the arts is a form of healing
meditation, says Glenn Towery founder of
the AVAFEST Festival and chairman of
the Veterans Suicide Prevention Channel.
