Dental Implants FAQs
At Hope Park Dental Practice, we are proud to offer Dental Implants
as one of our services. We are experienced in talking through all
aspects of the surgery and process with you at your own pace and
making sure all of your questions are answered.
From this experience, we have been able to develop a list of some of
our most frequently asked questions when it comes to dental
implants.
What are
Dental
Implants?
Dental implants are metal screws
that are inserted directly into your
jawbone below the gums, replacing
the missing tooth.
An artificial tooth can then be
fitted onto the implant. Over time,
the surrounding bone will gradually
fuse to the metal, allowing for the
implant to remain firmly in place.
How long do
Dental
Implants last
for?
Dental Implants can generally be
expected to last 30+ years.
The artificial tooth however will have a
lifespan of around 10-15 years before it
may need replaced.
Do Dental
Implants
hurt?
With the use of local anaesthesia,
patients don’t tend to
experience any pain or
discomfort.
What are the
different
types of
Dental
Implants?
You can either have a crown, a
bridge or a supported denture
fitted onto the implant.
The appropriate option will depend
on your circumstances.
Can you get
full mouth
Dental
Implants?
The advantage of supported
dentures is that they are easier to
remove for cleaning, whilst also
remaining very stable in the
mouth when they are fitted in
There are several options available
to you. One of which is a
supported denture, which would
be fitted onto multiple implants
spread across your teeth.
How much
are Dental
Implants?
The cost of having dental
implants will depend on the
treatment that you opt for.
We offer a range of different dental
implant options, including crowns,
bridges and implant supported
dentures
