About Friends of County Parks

The Friends of the County Parks, established in 1988, is a group of concerned citizens joining together to promote financial and community support to the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department. They develop public awareness of recreation as an important part of day-to-day life. 

Funds provided by The Friends of the County Parks are used as a supplement to the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department budget and does not replace allocated tax dollars. These additional funds helps maintain, improve, and enhance services provided by the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department. The Friends of the County Parks enjoys a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit exemption status.

BALL FOR ALL – HALLOWEEN DANCE
OCT. 14TH @ BRANDON COMMUNITY CENTER
The Halloween BALL for All Dance will be held on
Friday, Oct. 14th at Brandon Community Center. The
dance is designed to serve adults with disabilities in the
Brandon community to help build confidence, increase
social activity and have a great time with friends. A $1
donation will be collected at the door per person.
Snacks and drinks will be served at the dance.


PARENT NIGHT OUT @
PROVIDENCE SKATE PARK

Providence Skate Park is offering a Parent Night Out
Event on the last Friday of each month this fall. Fall
dates are Oct. 28th, Nov. 25th, and Dec. 30th. The
program will run from 6pm to 10pm. Parents are
asked to donate $7 per child each night to assist in
covering the cost of the pizzas each night. Each night is
limited to 10 participants so make sure to sign up early.

TRUNK OR TREAT HALLOWEEN EVENTS
Halloween Trunk or Treat Events are being held at Mango
Recreation Center, Northdale Recreation Center and Ruskin
Recreation Center this year on Friday, Oct. 28th. Each event
will have decorated trunks for the kids to trick or treat along
and have costume contest. Plenty of candy will be on hand
for all to get. The Ruskin event will also feature a Movie In
the Park after the Trunk or Treating is finished.




2022 ROY WILCOX & FRIENDS GOLF
TOURNAMENT – NOV. 19TH AT
ROGERS GOLF COURSE
The 2022 Roy Wilcox & Friends Golf
Tournament will be held on Saturday,
November 19th at Rogers Golf Course with
an 8am start. Cost for an individual player
is $85 and team registration is $340.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit
Hillsborough County Adaptive Sports
Program and Friends of the County Parks.
Funds are used to assist with training, travel
and education as well as funding special
events, scholarships, volunteer events and

HALLOWEEN JAM 2022 @
PROVIDENCE SKATE PARK
Providence Skate Park will hold it’s annual Halloween
Jam this year on Saturday, Oct. 29th. The event will
feature various events and contest. Pizza and drinks
will be provided to the participants and spectators and
of course what would a Halloween Event be without

FINAL BEST SHREDDER CONTEST OF THE YEAR
NOVEMBER 5TH @ PROVIDENCE SKATE PARK
The last Best Shedder Contest in this year’s series will
be held at Providence Skate Park on Saturday,
November 5th. The event is focusing on beginner and
intermediate skateboarders to get them familiar with
skateboarding contest. For more information contact

ADULT FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT @
RUSKIN RECREATION CENTER
Ruskin Recreation Center will hold a Men’s 4 v 4 Flag
Football Tournament on Saturday, December 3rd. The
event will run from 8am to 4pm. The registration fee
per team is $100 and is limited to 8 teams (7 man
rosters). This is a double elimination tournament.





HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY TOYS FOR
TOTS SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
Hillsborough County will once again hold
the Toys for Tots Adult Softball
Tournaments this year at Ed Radice Sports
Complex and William Owens Pass Park on
Saturday, Dec. 3rd. Entry fee for the
tournament is $50 per team and $50 in
toy donations. The toy donations will be
going to Hillsborough County Head Start
Program once again. For more
