Carlos M. del Pozo
Carlos served as an Infantry Ocer in the
United States Army. He graduated rst in
his class at Infantry Ocer Basic Course
and completed Ranger School. He deployed
to Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne
Division where he was awarded commen-
dations for combat valor and meritorious
leadership as a Rie Platoon Leader and
Scout Platoon Leader. Carlos graduated
from the Graduate School of Business at
Stanford University with an MBA and
earned an AB from Princeton University.
Seán D. Ketterick
Sean gained extensive operational and
leadership skills as a hospital administrator in
the Air Force. He served in the US and Italy in
functional areas including nancial manage-
ment, managed care, emergency management
and group practice management. He earned
board certication from the American Academy
of Medical Administrators. Sean graduated
from the Graduate School of Business at
Stanford University with an MBA and earned a
BS in Management from the Air Force
Academy where he graduated rst in his major.

Q: Who are you and why are you contacting me?

> We (Sean and Carlos) served as military ocers before graduating from Stanford Business School. We grew up in small family
businesses and aspire to apply our military leadership experiences and business education to our shared dream of owning, managing
and growing a great small business. We are interested in your business.
Q: Why should I care?
> Like many business owners, a transition plan may not be top priority at the moment or you may believe you must make dicult
sacrices when looking to sell your business (lose your autonomy, risk layos of your loyal and valued employees, sell to someone who
sees your business as a commodity, etc). We are dierent:

• Focus: We will look at many companies but choose one to buy and exclusively manage.

• Flexibility: If you are as excited as us about a deal, we’re committed to adapting the transition structure and timeline to


meet your goals.

• Continuity: Our objective is growth – not cost cutting. We want a company with a team in place to continue running the

company as we transition into management and shift our focus to continuing growth. We will provide the management


energy to act on your vision and realize your company’s growth opportunities.

• Autonomy: “Golden Handcus” are not required. Equity can be retained. We can structure your role (or lack of role) based

on your preferences.

• Relationships: When you sell to Sean and Carlos, what you see is what you get. Once you get to know us and learn about

our advisors, you will have peace of mind knowing that we are devoting all of our energy to the long-term success of the


business, team, and customer base you’ve worked hard to build.

Q: You look young… Do you have money?

> Our investor team is looking to put a lot of money to work. ey have a solid track record of backing hundreds of similar manage-
ment teams. Additionally, they have already invested a great deal of money in supporting our endeavors for the opportunity to invest
more. We’ve intentionally built a diverse group of investors with access not only to personal capital or institutional funds, but also
larger funds with billions under management. You should have the utmost condence that when we nd the right company, funding
will not be a concern. If we learn about your company and continue to engage in discussions you can be certain that there is ample

Q: What makes you think you know how to run my business better than me?

> We don’t. at’s why we are looking for a great business and team, not a xer-upper. We will apply the same values and characteris-

the hallmarks of our approach. ey have served us well while managing organizations in unfamiliar, high-stakes situations in the past
