The California Conference for the Advanment of Ceramic Arts
features ceramic sculptors from around the world, as well as
over 40 exhibitions
Lisa Reinertson, renown for her
portrait sculptures and powerful
depictions of women, will be
demonstrating her incredible
techniques.
This interactive opportunity will afford all who attend the ability
to meet and learn from diverse artists
Chris Theiss is known for his impressive
sculptural works, which feature the
incredible sgraffito technique. He will be
sharing insights into how to achieve this
unique appearance.
Artists will come from around the world to share their
experiences of working in clay!
Sean Henry in one of the best known
English portraitists. His works in clay
and bronze capture his subjects with an
incredible sensitivity. Come learn how
he imbues so much personality into his
sculpture.
All of these artists have developed unique artistic languages that
they are eager to share with the participants at CCACA.
Lisa Clague's works evoke a place
between the subconscious and the
intangible. Her figures are hybrids and
combine dreams and reality. Her
ceramics are both delicate and
powerful.
In addition to their lectures and demonstrations, all presenters
will show artwork at the John Natsoulas Gallery's exhibition 30
Ceramic Sculptors.
Ah Leon is a world-renown artist from
Taiwan, who is a master of the
trompe l'oeil style. His works,
resembling living wood, are a
testament to his talent and abilities in
clay.
The conference is a completely unique opportunity to learn and
also see the best ceramic artwork of today.
Morel Doucet is a multi-disciplinary artist
whose clay works feature an
amalgamation of figures and vegetation.
He will share his techniques and his
experience of working as an Haitian
immigrant in Florida.
