Thanks for your considera-
tion.
On another issue, this time
of year we begin prepara-
tion for our annual meeting
which is normally held in
November. If you have con-
cerns or specific matters of
interest for the whole neigh-
borhood, i.e. deed re-
striction modifications/
additions, proposed budget
items, etc., please send me
a message outlining the
specifics. Your Board
wants to make sure we ad-
dress all matters of concern
within the community.
HELP WANTED!
We need 3 replacement
Board members for the
start of next year! As you
probably know, members
of Sweetwater’s Associa-
tion Board are volunteers
from within the neighbor-
hood and serve for a peri-
od of 2 years.
This time of year, out-
going Board members
(Jordan, Armantrout and
Lentz) and others begin a
search for candidates to
assume a position on
next year’s governing
Board. We are not look-
ing for replacements into
specific positions, rather,
after the new Board is
elected, appointments
are made to all 7 Board
positions (President, VP,
Architecture, Treasurer,
Secretary, Security and
Landscape) for the up-
coming year.
If your schedule will allow,
please consider volun-
teering to serve on next
year’s Board. The neigh-
borhood needs individu-
als dedicated to advanc-
ing our best interests.

Sweetwater Open House Signs
The new Sweetwater Open House signs are now being used by realtors when they hold an open house
in Sweetwater. The early feedback is that everyone likes them much better than the cheap, tacky
signs realtors often use.
Hope to hear from you on
both these issues.

Hello Sweetwater –
It’s time to update you on
what has been happening
in our great community.
As I travel often, I meet
many people from across
the country and hear many
folks don’t even know their
neighbors or they tell me
what’s going wrong in their
community. I tell them
about our neighborhood
and they are amazed to
hear what Sweetwater is
about.
Some things to remember:
Pets – All dogs are to be
leashed and not running
around loose. This is listed
in our deed restrictions
(20); not to mention it is a
Hillsborough County Law
that dogs must be leashed.
Please remember to pick
up your pet’s deposits. We
often get complaints that
residents are not picking up
after their dogs.
We have also gotten some
complaints about barking
dogs. Please bring your
dog inside if your dog is
barking a lot. Your neigh-
bors shouldn’t have to hear
constant barking because
you don’t want to hear your
dog barking inside.
Solicitors – We are working
to stop door-to-door solici-
tors. This is a security issue
and is not allowed in our
community. It is clearly post-
ed at the front gate.
If you have a solicitor ring
your doorbell please get
whatever information you
can get, forward it to me, and
I will contact the company to
tell them to stop. We have
been actively contacting
companies telling them to
stop or we will contact the
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s
Department.
Some of us have our palm
trees trimmed after the con-
tractor knocks on our door.
This behavior encourages
solicitation. Please contact
them directly to set an ap-
pointment.
If you have work being done
at your home those contrac-
tors CANNOT go door-to-door
looking for more jobs in the
neighborhood.
Contractors – Please remem-
ber the time of day contrac-
tors are allowed to perform
work in the neighborhood,
8am to 6pm Monday through
Saturday. It should not be
before 8 am, especially when
they are working outside.
Please remember your neigh-
bors when work is being done
at your home.
If you have work being done
on you home, our deed re-
strictions do not allow outside
signage regarding your con-
tractor. Remember, deed
restriction violations may
result in possible fines to the
homeowner.
Parking – It is a Florida State
Law to park with the flow of
traffic. You may be ticketed
for not parking on the proper
side of the street. As a mat-
ter of safety, it is more diffi-
cult to see a parked car if it is
parked the wrong way –
that’s why they put reflectors
on the back of your car and
not the front.
Hurricane Season – We are
already in the 2013 Hurri-
cane Season and here are a
few things to take note of.
Please keep your trees
pruned, especially palm
trees. Just last week, a lot of
tree branches and palm tree
debris came down in a nor-
mal summer storm. Had it-
been a tropical system with
sustained high winds, that
debris may have caused
damage to cars or homes.

Reminder:
Impact Signs & Designs Inc. is the contractor for the official Sweetwater “For Sale” signs. If you
need one they can be reached at impactsignstampa.com
Please keep streets clear of trash
cans, lawn debris and cars espe-
cially when a tropical system ap-
proaches. These items slow down
the drainage system and can
cause severe street flooding.
Seasonal Suggestions – Take
pictures of your home both inside
and out. You then have current
pictures in case needed for insur-
ance claims.
Stock up on suggested supplies
such as water, batteries etc.
Have a game plan if we are re-
quired to evacuate . What’s on
your checklist, where are you
going? Better to be prepared
than scrambling at the last mi-
nute.
I know it has been a while since
the area has been hit with a Hur-
ricane but as we have seen Moth-
er Nature has been doing some
very unpredictable things so far
this year. Don’t get caught if she
decides Tampa Bay is a nice
place to visit.

In the past few months,
we've had quite a few pro-
jects completed. The irriga-
tion systems have been
modified and serviced to
accommodate lift station
changes. Additionally, we've
installed hedges to soften
the appearance of the Salt-
water lift station. The outer
wall was pressure washed
Greetings friends and
neighbors,
I hope you are enjoying
your summer season.
Thanks to all of you that
have “Taken A Sounding”
and responded by improv-
ing your home’s curb ap-
peal. I'm sure everyone
would agree that “the tide
is rising due to the efforts
of many of our neighbors”.
With that in mind, it's my
pleasure to announce that

the entry. Thank you Debbie Race
for picking them out!
Recently a few issues have sur-
faced that warrant a friendly re-
minder. Garbage cans should not
be visible from the street. Side-
walks should be kept clear of low
hanging limbs or encroaching veg-
etation.
As a courtesy to everyone, please
ensure that you're doing your part
to maintain our quality of life. If
you see a blown light, sprinkler
problem or any other issue that
you feel should be addressed,
please contact me.
Things have been rather
calm and routine on the
security front. Even my pet
peeve, unwanted solici-
tors, seems to be going in
the right direction – way
down. Most of the issues
have been normal mainte-
nance of the gate and the
occasional malfunction. I
always appreciate the
heads up you provide
when you notice some-
thing amiss with the gate.
I have been working on
cleaning up the gate data-
base and I ask for your
help. Over time the number
of gate remotes/clickers
registered in the database
has grown like clothes
hangers in a closet. I know
a good number of remotes
have been replaced with
new devices owing to loss,
damage, or wearing out,
but not all the obsolete
devices have been re-
moved from the database.
I need your help in identifying
them so I can delete them
from the system.
When you have a moment
please email to me the trans-
mitter numbers for the re-
motes you are using. The
transmitter number can be
found on the label on the back
of the remote. It is a five-digit
number located just below the
characters “TR#” about half-
way down on the right side. If
the label on your remote is too

our contractor recently
finished asphalt repairs to

those who have been

landscaping all contribute
to the improved overall
look of our great neighbor-

much difference a little
effort can make. Please

We would like to create a
site for neighbors, poten-
tial new home owners and
real estate members. We
would also like to create a
database for storing Board
documents. This will aid
in the transition to new
Board members every
year.
We are looking for assis-
tance with designing and imple-
menting this site. Please feel
free to contact me if you would
like to volunteer to help out our
community in a big way!

borhood Board, we under-
stand how busy life can
be, especially with the
summer in full swing.
Members of the Board
would like to revamp our
website, but we do not
have the time to devote to
it in addition to all of our
other related obligations.

portant on the days we deploy our
trash cans, recycle containers and
yard clippings. Placement on the
end of your driveway or in the edge
of the grass instead of on the street
or storm drains would be a big help.
If you live at one of the 17 manhole
storm drain collection locations you
know how fast a back-up or flood
can occur when heavy rains hit and
some object or trash finds its way to
blocking a drain.
Also, if you live on the water and
have a dock, please take inventory
of any loose boards that might free
themselves and float away during
storms and high tides. Not only will
